Well, today I tried to cut Vicki's nails with pet nail clippers. Yup, you probably guessed it. I clipped only about 1/4 of a centimeter and it started to bleed and bleed and bleed. We tried to bandage the bleeding nail bed up but it would fall off. We tried rubbing alcohol, baking soda and finally thought, "hmmm, maybe we should just leave it alone." It has stopped bleeding after half an hour and that seemed like an eternity. I'll now leave the nail clipping to the vet and groomer.
uh oh... next time just paint them, it will be a fashion statement!
ReplyDeleteYou're right! The bleeding actually started again. I called the vet and they suggested we bring her in 'cos it bled for like 45 mins. Glad to have taken her to the vets, they had a more effective powder and proper bandages. She looked like she was wearing a field hockey stick on her right paw! We had to wait a while due to the bleeding and thought maybe they would need to cauterize to stem the bleeding but didn't need to. It turned into quite the ordeal to get her to heal! Phew...
ReplyDeletePoor girl... i feel sorry for the next person who's going to cut her nails. she is going to be a treat with the trauma she just went through. so what did the vet think about her voluptuous figure?
