It's Her "Raw" Food Diet

Vicki's schedule is out of whack. She's up barking half the night and her eating and walking schedules have been disrupted. She loves raw chicken and fish. Maybe other kinds of meat too. I tried ground beef with green peas and a small amount of whole wheat bread. There are many sights about raw food feeding but the best I can do is see what good food she likes eating. She has lots of energy but her weight is still the same. It is hard to say no to her. She's far more demanding.

Also raw eggs in the shell were recommended by one site. I must go buy some more for her today.

It can get kinda messy getting fish parts and chopping up chicken legs but she loves it so much! She's eating right now and I have to keep the kitchen door closed so that she can enjoy her food properly.

This is an example of what she might have for dinner.

  1. Raw eggs in the shell? Duke likes hard boiled eggs, maybe I should try this. Do you just put the egg in the dog bowl? Duke is a messy eater, too. Sigh.

  2. lol, yes that's what they say on the rawfood website for dogs but vicki likes them raw without the shell. i am a mean doggie momma i close the door to the kitchen until she's finished eating otherwise she gets shells, bones and an other bits all through the flat - ugh. The not so glamorous side of having pets. Take care. L

  3. great that you are on raw! but in reality, dogs do not need bread (whole wheat or not) (in fact, bread is not good for your dogs at all..), peas, etc. what you are feeding - raw meaty bones (i.e. 10% bones, 80% meat, 10% organs like liver) is the best you can give your dog. trust me on that.

do monitor her poop when you give her raw eggs. sometimes dogs get diarrhea on raw eggs, or on a new kind of meat they're not used to, or even just a particular type of meat.

  4. thanks for the info. i've stopped with the bread. we are just trying different things. dogs will and do eat just about anything and live long healthy lives. it may not be the best thing for her but she's a pug and needs some "filler" otherwise she's barking all of the time for any kind of food :c) you're right about the raw eggs she loves them but they do make her poop runny! i trust you!
